We were recently notified by our payments partner, Forte, of a small number of transactions that were processed twice in error. This list included both incoming payments from residents, and outgoing payments to vendors and/or rental owners.
NOTE: if you or your residents were impacted by this issue, you will see an alert in Buildium on your Dashboard. If you did not receive this message, you can safely ignore this issue.

This issue occurred outside of Buildium, and so ledgers in Buildium do not show the duplicate payment. Instead, only the one payment shows on each ledger. In actuality, payments are reflected twice in bank accounts. In these cases, you may see an extra payment from a resident in your bank account, or you may see that a second outgoing payment to vendor or rental owner.
To fix these payments for residents or for your company, our payments partner is in the process of reversing these duplicate payments. No further action is needed to return these payments.
So that your bank accounts will reconcile properly in Buildium, though, you'll want to represent these reversed payments with the appropriate transactions.
