Trouble signing in with Two-Factor Authentication

Why can't I sign in without two-factor authentication?

We are committed to helping you keep all of the information you store in Buildium as safe and secure as possible. As part of that effort we will be moving to require two-factor authentication on all user accounts at login in the coming weeks.

Two-factor authentication is a two step verification that adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring access to your mobile device to prove that it’s you logging in to your account.

What happens if my phone is lost or stolen?

Update your password

If your phone was lost or stolen, we strongly recommend that you first secure your account by updating your password.

Contact Support

In order to override the two-factor authentication setting on your account and have it reset, you will need to contact support. Once the setting has been reset, you will be able to set up two-factor authentication with your phone number.

Why didn't I receive my authentication code?

Before choosing to receive your code via text message, please make sure your device and service plan support SMS delivery. Delivery speed may vary by location and service provider, so please try make sure there’s a strong signal nearby.

You can also switch between receiving your codes by text message or voice call. Sometimes, one method of delivery is more reliable than the other. Simply click the Get voice call link from the screen where you enter your one-time password.

Note: If you received multiple authentication codes, only the newest one will work. If you have made multiple requests, please wait for the most recent code to arrive. It might take a few minutes depending on your connection.
