In Buildium, you can delete tenant charges in a few different ways.
In this article, you'll learn how to:
- Delete a charge posted to a tenant ledger
- Delete a recurring charge
- Delete recurring charges in bulk
1. Delete a charge posted to a tenant ledger
To delete a tenant charge:
- Type the tenant's name in the search bar, then click Lease ledger.
- From the lease ledger, click on the charge you want to delete.
- Click Edit charge.
- Scroll to the bottom of the window, and select Delete charge.
Buildium does not allow you to delete posted charges in bulk, with the exception of late fees. If you need to delete multiple charges posted on a tenant's lease ledger, you will need to do so individually.

2. Delete a recurring charge
Recurring charges can be set to end after a certain amount of recurrences, so you most likely won't need to delete a recurring charge often.
To delete a recurring charge:
- Type the tenant's name in the search bar, then click Lease ledger.
- From the lease ledger, click Recurring transactions.
- Select the recurring charge you want to delete by clicking on it.
- Click Edit charge.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the window and select Delete charge.
3. Delete recurring charges in bulk
Unlike individual charges that have already been posted, you can delete recurring charges in bulk.
The delete recurring charges in bulk tool is only available per property, it will not delete charges across several different properties.
To delete recurring charges in bulk:
- Navigate to Rentals > Rent roll.
- Click Update recurring charges.
- In the pop-up window, select Delete recurring charges.
- Choose an account type, property, and recurring charge frequency, then click Search.
- Place a check in the box next to each charge you want to delete.
- Then, click Save at the top of the window.
