How do I move an approved applicant into a lease?

When you approve an applicant in Buildium, the next step is to move that applicant into a new lease.

1. How to move an approved applicant into a new lease

1. Navigate to Leasing > Applicants.
2. Click on the name of approved applicant you want to move in.Once the applicant status has been changed to approved, click Move in. 
3. If there is no existing lease on the unit, you'll be brought directly to the Add Lease screen.
4. Enter the lease dates and type, and select Record an executed lease if you already have signed lease papers in hand. If you're signed up for Buildium's eLeasing, select Record a draft lease to collect eSignatures.
5. When you move in an approved applicant, their personal information will transfer over from their application to to their tenant profile.
6. Fill out the form with the remaining lease details, then click Create lease.

2. Move an applicant onto an existing lease

1. Navigate to Leasing > Applicants.
2. Click on the name of the approved applicant you want to move in.
3. Once the applicant status has been changed to approved, click Move in.
   
4. If there is an existing lease on the chosen unit, click Add to lease.
5. The system will automatically add the applicant to the existing lease.
