The Budget vs actuals report shows actual income and expenses for period of time as compared to the budgeted amounts.

When to use it
- Compare your created budget in Buildium to actual financial data in Buildium.
Interpreting the report
- The left side of the report shows data for the selected period.
- The right side of the report always shows data for the entire budget year.

It is uncommon to see negative amounts on a budget unless your budget contains contra-revenue accounts, such as vacancy loss or rent concessions.
In these cases, be wary of the overage calculations; if you've budgeted for ($1000) in vacancy loss, an actual value of ($1100) is over budget.
Generating this report
- Go to the Reports menu

- Click the Budget vs Actuals link.

Select your report parameters. More details:
Parameter What it means Property Select the property
Budget Select the budget for the property that you'd like to run.
Period Selects the period for which the software will generate the report.
Comparison period Selects the period for the right side of the report. This period has two options:

Budget year - this option shows all 12 months of your budget.
For example, let's say your budget runs from January through December. Your period is March. This option will show data from January through December.

YTD until <period> - this option shows data from the start of your budget until the end of the period.
For example, let's say your budget runs from January through December. Your period is March. This option will show data from January through March.
Accounting basis Cash basis reports display data when money changes hands. Accrual basis reports display data for the period in which the transaction originally happened.
Report format Choose from PDF, legacy PDF, XLS, XLSX, or CSV.

Miscellaneous
