How do I set up email notifications?

 

An email notification is an email Buildium sends to let you know that something noteworthy has happened in your account.

Each user in Buildium is able to choose which notifications they want to receive, depending on the level of access they have based on their user role.

There are several different types of email notifications you can set for yourself.

  1. Rental application notifications
  2. Resident site notifications
  3. Tasks notifications
  4. Online payment notifications
  5. Management agreement renewal notifications

To find your email notification settings, click on the avatar with your initials or profile photo in the top right corner of your screen, then click My settings, and scroll down the page. You can check the box next to each notification you want to receive, and uncheck boxes for those you don't need. When you're done choosing email notification settings, click Save.

1. Rental application notifications

Rental application notifications are only available to users who have access to all properties in the account. If you use the customizable rental application on your public website, you can turn on notifications to help streamline the leasing process.

You can choose to receive an email when the following actions occur:

  • A prospect submits a rental application
  • A prospect approves a request for credit and background check using Basic Tenant Screening

2. Resident site notifications

If you invite residents to use Buildium's responsive resident site, you can turn on a community forum, then receive notifications when residents make or reply to posts.

You can choose to receive an email when the following action occurs:

  • Anyone posts to a resident discussion board

3. Task notifications

Task notifications are useful if you use Buildium's task and work orders to manage maintenance and streamline to-do lists, or if you use the messages feature on the resident site and rental owner site to allow requests.

You can choose to receive an email when the following actions occur:

Incoming requests

  • Contact requests
  • Resident requests
  • Rental owner requests

My tasks

  • My tasks update - A request, task or work order assigned to me is updated or is due
  • My tasks daily summary

All tasks

  • All tasks update - Any request, task or work order is updated or is due
  • All tasks daily summary
  • Include a full task history in every email

4. Online payment notifications

These notifications are only available to users who have signed up with ePay, and have access to all properties in the account.

You can choose to receive an email when the following action occurs:

  • An online payment is rejected or reversed
  • A daily digest of online payments from residents

5. Company notifications

Tracking and renewing management agreements with rental owners is made easy with company notifications.

You can choose to receive an email when the following action occurs:

  • Monthly reminder for management agreement renewals
