Buildium's mobile app offers the key functionality you need on the go — like adding a maintenance request; editing and view tenant, owner, and vendor information; uploading photos of a property (or a leaky toilet); recording payments and getting directions to a property. Users can also access the full version of Buildium from their device without having to sign in.

The Buildium app is now available at the App Store and Google Play.

Sign in

  1. Open the app.

  2. Enter your email address and password.

  3. Touch Sign In

    If your email address is used in multiple Buildium accounts, the app will present all of the possible choices. Touch the account you wish to sign into.

  4. You'll be brought to the Home page.

Search

The search button, , allows you to perform a text-based search for properties and people. To use it:

  1. Touch the icon on any page.
  2. Type the name of the property or person that you're looking for.
  3. Touch Search.
  4. Buildium will provide all results that match your search.
  5. Touch the row that contains the result that you were interested in.

If the search results seem inaccurate, refresh the app. If the results are still unsatisfactory, sign out and then sign in again.

Sort

The Buildium app offers a sort setting that allows you to choose how your people appear in the list. To change this setting:

  1. Go to the Home page.

  2. Touch .

  3. Touch the sort menu.

  4. Choose your sort option.
  5. Touch Done.

Notes

Notes can be added to properties, associations, tenants, association owners, and vendors.

To add a note:

  1. Navigate to the property or person that you wish to work with.
  2. Touch the Notes tab.

  3. Touch .

  4. Type the note.

  5. When you are finished, touch .

 

Properties

Accessing properties and associations

  1. Go to the Home page.

    To return to Home while within the app, touch .

  2. Touch Properties.

  3. A list of properties will appear.

  4. Touch the row with the property that you wish to work with.

    The list of people uses icons to help you easily tell who someone is:

    Property typeIcon
    Associations
    Single family rental property
    Multi unit rental property
    Commercial rental property
  5. The property hub will appear.

Add a property

  1. Go to the Home page.
  2. Touch Properties.

  3. Touch .
  4. Complete the form.
  5. Touch .

Add a unit

  1. Navigate to the property that you wish to work with.
  2. Touch .

  3. Complete the form.
  4. Touch .

Map

To show the property's address in a map, touch the Map link.

The app will open your phone's default address/map service and show the address.

Property pictures

Pictures are only available for rental properties and units

  1. Navigate to the property or unit that you wish to work with.
  2. Touch the picture.

  3. The Pictures detail page appears.

    From here, you can:

    • Touch the arrows at the top of the page to rotate through the pictures associated with the property or unit.

    • Touch to add a new picture.
    • Touch to edit a picture caption.

People

Accessing People

People refer to rental owners, tenants, association owners, vendors, and staff. Access a list of all people in your account from your Home page.

Touch on the Home page to search and go directly to a specific person.

  1. Go to the Home page.

    To return to Home while within the app, touch .

  2. Touch People.

  3. A list of people will appear.

  4. Touch the row with the person that you wish to work with.

    The list of people uses icons to help you easily tell who someone is:

  5. The person's hub will appear.

The rental owner's total available cash is displayed at the top of the page.

Rental owner details include their tax ID and 1099-MISC status, comments, and the properties they own.

Association owner

Learn more about association owners.

Association owners appear in the people list with this icon, , next to their name.

The association owner's total current outstanding balance for their ownership account is displayed at the top of the page. Touch to see account details

Association owner details include if they are a board member, if they occupy a unit, and comments.

Tenants

Learn more about tenants.

Tenants appear in the people list with this icon, , next to their name.

The tenant's total current outstanding balance for their lease is displayed at the top of the page. Touch to see lease details

To map, touch the address. Buildium will open your phone's default map program.

To call, touch .

Staff

Staff appear in the people list with this icon, , next to their name.

  1. Navigate to tasks
  2. Select the task.

  3. To edit the task, click edit.
  4. To edit an update, click.
  5. Complete the form.
  6. Touch .

 

Update a task

  1. Navigate to tasks
  2. Select the task.
  3. Touch update task.

  4. Complete the form.
  5. Touch .

 

Delete a task

  1. Navigate to tasks
  2. Select the task.

  3. Select edit.

  4. Click Delete Task.
