PCI compliance is not required to process credit cards with Buildium's epay service. Our service uses secure payment forms and does not store payment information.

In case you were curious....PCI is an acronym that stands for Payment Card Industry. PCI compliance refers to adherence to the guidelines set by the PCI Security Standards Council (American Express, Discover, JCB, MasterCard, and Visa) in the PCI DSS (Payments Card Industry Data Security Standard). Now, aren't you glad you asked?

Just so it's been said, PCI compliance may be required if you use another processor for credit cards. If you process credit cards through your bank or with a "swipe" machine or "knuckle buster" in the office, check with your processor to see if they have any requirements.
