Property managers of both rental and association portfolios often have many vendors across one category that only get used at specific properties, whether for geographic, client preference or other reasons.
With Buildium, you can group vendors for each property or association under management and mark them as preferred, which makes creating work orders simple.

To add preferred vendors to a property or association:

  1. Navigate to Rentals > Properties, or Associations > Associations.
  2. Then, click on the property or association you want to add preferred vendors to.
  3. From the property summary page, click the Vendors tab.
  4. Select Manage Vendors to add the preferred vendors for that particular property or association.
  5. Select the plus sign next to each vendor you want to add, then click Save.


To use preferred vendors when creating a work order:

Now, when you go to select a vendor for a bill or expense, if a property is selected, we'll bubble preferred vendors to the top of the list to make it easier for them to find the right option.

  1. Navigate to Maintenance > Work orders.
  2. Then, click Add work order.
  3. After you enter the subject, property and category, click on the vendor drop down menu.
  4. All preferred vendors for the property selected will appear at the top of the vendor list.
